一汽解放汽车有限公司(以下简称“一汽解放”)是中国第一汽车股份有限公司旗下一汽解放集团股份有限公司的全资子公司,是商用车行业龙头品牌,更是国内重卡行业第一品牌。基于一汽解放业务极速发展及产品诞生流程不断升级优化,以其采购总体战略为指引,以数智化为方向,以全集团集中一体化采购管理为目标,于2017年与甘棠软件建立深度合作,结合其业务特色,采用总体规划分步实施的模式展开覆盖整车与动力总成两大事业群,长春、青岛、成都、柳州、客车、佛山、无锡、大连8大制造基地采购业务的集中采购管控平台(JEPS: Jie Fang Excellent Procurement System)的建设。

Project Overview

FAW Jiefang Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "FAW Jiefang") is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. It is a leading brand in the commercial vehicle industry and the top brand in China's heavy-duty truck sector. Leveraging its rapid business growth and continuous improvement in the product development process, FAW Jiefang established a deep collaboration with Gant Software in 2017. This collaboration was guided by FAW Jiefang's overall procurement strategy, with a focus on digitalization and the goal of centralized integrated procurement management for the entire group. They adopted a step-by-step implementation approach to cover the procurement operations of two major business units: complete vehicles and powertrains across eight major manufacturing facilities in Changchun, Qingdao, Chengdu, Liuzhou, Changchun, Foshan, Wuxi, and Dalian. Based on the overall planning, a centralized procurement control platform, known as Jiefang Excellent Procurement System, was built.

Business Challenges

● The procurement business of FAW JIEFANG in each base has its own characteristics, its own upstream and downstream business environment, and the constraints imposed by the surrounding IT systems. The platform construction needs to balance the established IT development goals, while constructing a centralized procurement management business model within the defined project timeline, posing significant difficulties and challenges.
● The existing production procurement operations were scattered across various discrete systems and business personnel, resulting in the inability to accumulate and transfer decentralized data.

● The internal development of JEPS, based on Gant's deep understanding of the automotive industry developed over many years, combined with FAW Jiefang's specific business characteristics, included the full range of core production and procurement processes, such as supplier admission, supplier selection, business negotiations, multi-point ratio management, supplier production readiness, price determination and changes, refunds and supplements, decision management, contracts and agreements, supplier performance, and supplier capacity enhancement, all managed online.
● Standardize and refine key attributes within the business processes, and promote fine-grained and digital management of business processes.
● Deeply understand the background and requirements of upstream and downstream systems, and customize relevant feature interfaces.

JEPS connects with FAW JIEFANG's internal systems across all of its manufacturing bases. It automatically receives procurement demands from each base's design systems and transmit procurement results to each base's ERP/SAP systems to achieve seamless and efficient information communication.

BESTUNE Digital Integrated Procurement Project
In the pursuit of a leading and sophisticated procurement management system, BESTUNE joined forces with Gant Software in 2017. This strategic partnership aimed to create an integrated business control platform tailored to strategic procurement. The collaborative effort enabled BESTUNE to gain full control over its primary procurement processes while ensuring the real-time and efficient execution of procurement tasks. BFDA Sales Resources Management Project
Gant Software collaborated with Foton Daimler to optimize the management of sales resources, which includes the management of vehicle models for sale and configuration master data, product management, and sales configurator management. By building a unified enterprise-level configuration resource library and introducing a configuration-based super BOM management model, it revolutionized the management approach of engineering, production, and sales configuration, and achieved the integration of configuration and BOM management.
Jiyue Enterprise-level BOM Project
Launched in May 2022, the enterprise-level BOM project (JiBom) was successfully completed within seven months with the support of Gant Software. The project includes the construction of the BOM system for R&D and after-sales domain, as well as integration with other related systems in Jiyue and Geely’s BOM system. This project brought about a profound integration the R&D, after-sales and manufacturing process/data of Jiyue and Geely at an accelerated pace.
JMC Enterprise-level BOM Project
In recent years, the domestic car market has witnessed intensified competition. To further enhance core competitiveness, JMC initiated a deep collaboration with Gant Software and leveraged our expertise and years of hands-on experience in the BOM field. Together, we embarked on a journey to develop an enterprise-level BOM management platform that not only embraced forward-looking technology but also harmonized seamlessly with JMC's business development strategy, helping JMC improve the synergy and management efficiency across the entire product business domain.
