BFDA Sales Resources Management Project

Gant Software collaborated with Foton Daimler to optimize the management of sales resources, which includes the management of vehicle models for sale and configuration master data, product management, and sales configurator management. By building a unified enterprise-level configuration resource library and introducing a configuration-based super BOM management model, it revolutionized the management approach of engineering, production, and sales configuration, and achieved the integration of configuration and BOM management.

北京福田戴姆勒汽车有限公司于2012年成立,坚持以用户为中心,引进欧洲卡车制造标准,以及戴姆勒领先的卡车研发生产技术,打造全新一代高品质重卡。福田戴姆勒汽车的产品系列涵盖牵引车、载货车、自卸车、专用车等200多个品种,累计产销100万+ ,实现了最全的重卡产品覆盖。
甘棠软件帮助福田戴姆勒的销售资源管理项目,主要包括销售车型及配置主数据管理、商品管理和销售方案配置器管理三部分。通过销售配置表,形成了基于销售策略统一管理销售资源的销售资源管理方式和可配置化的价格管理方式。通过对商品资源的管理,实现了不同点单用户的分层级点单授权管理,解决了不同用户群体可供选配的配置范围不一样的问题。通过高效的配置规则引擎算法,实现了真正意义上的自由选配,提供了良好的点单体验。

Project Overview

Beijing Foton Daimler Automobile Co., Ltd. (BFDA) was established in 2012 with a steadfast commitment to customer-centric principles. It introduced European truck manufacturing standards and Daimler's leading truck R&D and production technology to create a new generation of high-quality heavy-duty trucks. Foton Daimler Automotive's product ranges cover more than 200 varieties, including tractors, cargo trucks, dump trucks, and special vehicles. It has achieved cumulative production and sales of over one million units by providing the most comprehensive coverage of heavy truck products.
BFDA’s Sales Resources Management System Project included vehicle models for sale and configuration master data management, commodity management, and sales plan configurator management. Through the sales configuration table, they have established a sales resource management mode based on unified sales strategy management and a configurable pricing management mode. By managing commodity resources, BFDA has solved the problem of different configuration ranges available for different user groups. With efficient configuration rule engine algorithms, it has achieved truly free configuration to provide a good ordering experience.

Business Challenges

BFDA's sales resources involve G+X sales resources, domestically developed full configuration sales resources, and Daimler-developed Mercedes-Benz brand sales resources. These three sales resources have different requirements regarding the organization of configuration data, configuration constraint rules, and ordering display contents. The release of Mercedes-Benz brand sales resources shortened from 15 to 60 days to an average of 1.8 days per model.

By building a unified enterprise-level configuration resource library and introducing a configuration-based super BOM management model, it revolutionized the management approach of engineering, production, and sales configuration, and achieved the integration of configuration and BOM management. The sales configuration system seamlessly connects the product development phase with sales configuration, defines configuration and configuration price differences for sales-end, and also maintains the sales configuration table. By relying on Gant Software's configurable rule engine for large-scale personalized customization, complex configuration rule definitions and smooth order interaction were perfectly integrated. This helped customers truly achieve seamless integration between the commodity delivery process and the product creation process.

Back-end key information linkage
Set up a new dealer quotation management system for BFDA to support configuration master data management, configuration price management, sales resource management, and commodity authorization management at the back end and connect key information in the product creation and OTD processes.

Unified front-end display
The front-end system supports free vehicle model configuration, vehicle model configuration, and highlight display, which unifies the front-end display format for the three different types of sales resources.

Optimize the OTD process
Drive business model transformation in four aspects: commodity resource management modes, pricing modes, order range, and generation time of order models, making the OTD process simpler and more efficient.

FAW JIEFANG Digital Integrated Procurement Project
In 2017, FAW JIEFANG established deep cooperation with Gant Software and adopted a step-by-step implementation approach to cover the two major business groups of vehicles and powertrains. Developed the centralized procurement control platform for the procurement business of 8 manufacturing bases.
JMC Enterprise-level BOM Project
In recent years, the domestic car market has witnessed intensified competition.
